Experience the Experienced, Experience Transpac

Transpac Technology Inc. was founded in 1996 in Beijing, P.R. China. Our very first projects involved localizing several software products into Simplified Chinese, and right from those beginnings, we've been actively engaged with cutting-edge technology. In 1997, Transpac became one of the first Mainland-based vendors of Bowne Global to purchase and implement Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) systems. Rapid adoption of this technology enabled Transpac to re-use previously translated material - improving consistency and reducing costs for our customers well ahead of the competition.

As Transpac grew and evolved, the nature of our offerings expanded as well, so that now we can offer customized integral solutions - including services such as localization, software localization testing, and localization consulting. Understanding the serious issues that can affect a Localization effort, Transpac has developed a long-term partnership strategy. What this means is that experienced Transpac Localization experts will get involved with your company through the development stages, offering advice on Localization issues, getting to know the key contacts in your company and developing a tailored Localization process for your products. It has been our experience that this process will result in both companies benefiting from the most efficient and most effective Localization procedure possible.

We firmly believe that the large-scale Localization effort that is required within the industry demands the development of the closest possible partnering relationship between the clients and the Localization service provider. This is the model which we have successfully pioneered for CBT Systems, and which comprises, in simplified form, the following elements:

Fundamental analysis of the source content for degree of language difficulty;

Evaluation of the media in which the source content is delivered;

Review of source content for general cultural issues;

Localization process design, including customer/client interface mechanisms, communications with language/authoring vendors, technical and engineering processes, QA processes - including involvement of in-country customer offices, etc.

While some of the process elements may be common to most, if not all customers, the detail will invariably be different. This is, however, the obvious strength of the customized process - the process suits the client and the client's product, not the service provider's internal dynamic.

When properly up and running, this approach also has the potential to hold up an invaluable mirror to the client company's content development process. Having to redefine product for another language environment can lead to some profitable revisiting and enhancement of apparently tried and tested content concepts. It is also very good at picking up inconsistencies and bugs.

We would be very pleased to help your company develop, in partnership, a robust and flexible process which could cope with the difficulties inevitably associated with managing a large subject content database, together with multiple delivery formats.

Transpac sets up Project Teams that are dedicated to one client. These teams develop enough expertise to allow the client to rely on a black-box solution for all of its Localization requirements. Lessons learned will be retained within the team, and everyone will benefit from the specific experience accrued. Based on this type of agreement Transpac will be in a position to provide you with a competitive pricing policy that could involve a fixed price per product.

We have successfully navigated clients through the perilous initial stages of developing a Localization process right through to the final shipment of their first products. Through our strategic partnership our relationship with our client continues, with emphasis being shifted to improving and refining the Localization process. In addition, we will research new language markets as required and source/manage any appropriate resources required to service new or shifting requirements.
